Dorothy started her career in the aerospace industry initially working in the human resources and public relations departments for the Aeronutronic Division of Ford Aerospace & Communications Corporation (now Lockheed-Martin). This division employed over 3,000 people. She was later promoted to administrative assistant to the Vice President and General Manager. Subsequent to that, she was promoted to Marketing Representative for the Division responsible for development of the annual marketing plan, market research, advertising, brochures, film projects and military trade show implementation. She also handled logistics for high level visitors including Senators, Congressmen, DoD officials and top Ford management including Henry Ford II.
She entered the veterinary field as a veterinary assistant and receptionist in Southern California. After moving north, she joined San Martin Veterinary Hospital eventually being promoted to the position of Hospital Manager.
After taking some time off to enjoy her animals and her garden, she is proud to be a team member at the new Live Oak Veterinary Hospital. Dorothy and her husband Keith both have a love for animals and are surrounded by many, including six cats, two dogs, a horse and two chickens. Her passion has always been animals as she says they truly make a house a home.
